Installation errors are silently ignored

To reproduce: Give a file the "install" tag and
a) point the file to a directory or
b) Point installDir to something that is not writable to the user, e.g. "/usr"
In both cases, the output is "Installing <file name>", and no error message appears. However, the copying is not actually done.
