QGLWidget with AlphaChannel and Overpainting Text Problems

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    • Bug
    • Resolution: Out of scope
    • P2: Important
    • None
    • 4.8.2, 5.3.2
    • GUI: OpenGL
    • None
    • Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit OS. Qt 4.8.2, potentially already in 4.8.x (worked with 4.7.x)
    • macOS

    Description

On Windows 7 (works on OSX, other platforms not tested):
Rendering fonts using overpainting results in unwanted, randomly dotted underlined text, when the subclass of QGLWidget is created with a QGLFormat that has the QGL::AlphaChannel flag set.

It can be reproduced by adding the QGL::AlphaChannel flag in the Overpainting example (http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/opengl-overpainting.html).
