Compiling for Symbian device is extremely slow, noticeably stuck at a perl script execution for some significant delay

    Description

      The slow build process is noticeably due to the process being stuck at the following perl script execution for around 5 minutes: "perl -S makmake.pl".
      I have noticed a similar report has been filed under the Symbian community: http://developer.symbian.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1564 with the related discussion thread at: http://developer.symbian.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4541
