Provide clear contents X button for locator

If you press Ctrl + K the quick open box gets focus and anything you have already typed is highlighted. This is awesome! However if instead of pressing Ctrl + K you click in the quick open box anything you have typed does not get highlighted. Instead the cursor just sits at the end of the box.
Which is bad because one often wants to override what's in there. Highlighting the contents on click is also difficult (against the standards).
Instead provide a X button that clears the contents and puts the cursor into Locator.
