Search results history not discoverable

Several of us have been using qt creator for over 2 years. Recently in discussion I was asked to request a feature to output to a second window like visual studio. Most people in the discussion nodded - they would really use this, one person however pointed out that there is a drop down for search history that is much better. From this I conclude that this drop down is not discoverable, and some UI work to make it easier to find would greatly help us bring on more people.
