Linux / sudo installation: Installer stops with "Could not open file: /usr/local/... (Unknown error)"

    Description

      I used the 5.2.0 x86_64 linux offline installer to install into /usr/local from a normal user account. The IFW asks me for a sudo password, and starts extracting ... after a while extracting seems to come to a halt, and the installer gives me an error:

Error while extracting 'installer://qt.520.gcc_64.essentials/5.2.0gcc_64_qt5_essentials.7z': Could not open file: /usr/local/Qt5.2.0-opensource/5.2.0/gcc_64/examples/multimedia/declarative-camera/images/camera_flash_auto.png (Unknown error)

      After pressing retry it shows the next error:

Error while extracting 'installer://qt.520.gcc_64.essentials/5.2.0gcc_64_qt5_essentials.7z': Could not open file:  (No file name specified)

      WHich continues to pop up for repeated retries.
