non-breaking spaces and other special whitespace is eaten

when the .ts file contains  , it will contain ascii spaces after the file is saved where the respective translation units were edited. a no-op lconvert run will not trigger this issue (it merely converts unicode entities to unicode chars, which is mildly confusing, but correct).
