Mac OS X: Text cursor vanishes from line edits, never to appear again

When using tab to switch focus to a line edit, or when an application explicitly sets the selection, the text cursor vanishes (which is ok, because of the style), but it doesn't appear again when typing or clicking in the line edit.

On the other hand, when the cursor is visible, and a selection is created by mouse or keyboard selection, then the style hint is not correctly used and the text cursor stays visible.
