Search results should be reordered when choosing the old search

If I select the old item form the search results combobox, this item should be moved to the top position of the combobox. The interaction should be similar to the recent files menu.

The use case:

I did a search which resulted in 100 matches. I expanded only those which were interesting for me. Then I did different searches, and in meantime I want to return to the first search. This works until I search for the 10th time, and my original search is removed from the list.

Other option would be a possibility of removing items from the search result list.
