Console applications

While we do some support (currently disabled) for console processes on both unix and windows, the way we implemented that is far from optimal.
Un unix running it in xterm means we can't get any output from the launched application/
On windows there are problems for executables in paths with spaces and in arguments with spaces.
On the other hand for some applications running in a terminal is required.
