Icon about hidden button does not help the user when it should

1. Open some git diff in Creator.
2. If you see the buttons "Patience" and "Ignore "Whitespace" reduce the window's width until they disappear.
   A pair of arrows will be shown instead: >>

I don't think that this icon states clearly enough that some functionality is hidden because of the window's size. I does not provide access to this functionality either.

The icon should at least display an explaining tooltip when being hovered. When clicked, it could also show a menu containing the otherwise hidden items.
